G-sec market comments: The markets opened weak on G-Sec auction announcement, but improved during the day on rate cut expectations and lower crude prices.

The 10 yr G-Sec bonds yields closed lower at 7.40% as against previous close of 7.46%.

Liquidity was relatively comfortable. The net LAF balance was positive at Rs. 20,400 cr. The overnight  call rates were at 6% levels.

This week, the markets are expected to take cues from global credit turbulence, domestic liquidity conditions, lower inflation numbers, likely policy actions and G-sec auction cut-off.
